YOU ARE INVITED to a special event — an art auction and fundraiser to honor Sara Mall Johani's life's work and contributions to our community.
For over forty years, artists Tom Jay and Sara Mall Johani made their home in Chimacum, Washington, the heart of the Quimper Peninsula. Tom passed away in 2019, leaving a visionary legacy of sculpture, poetry, writing and ecological wisdom. At the same time, Sara has shared her uniquely playful, esoteric, and convention-defying artistic practice with us. Her work spans mythology, ecology, and at its best, connects directly to our hearts and minds. Through sculpture, graphic arts, and inspired community events, she has challenged and delighted an entire region with a singular creative vision. This autumn, that era will come to an end when Sara moves to Montreal to live with their son, Dru.
On July 29, from 4-8 pm, we'll gather at Finnriver Farm in Chimacum, Washington for a festive celebration of Sara's work. Her incredible body of sculptures will be on display—along with a few of Tom’s. Dozens of pieces will be auctioned, with half of proceeds benefitting the Watershed Bell Youth Arts Fund.

WE HOPE this will be more than a fundraiser. It's our best opportunity to find homes for the work of this incredible artist throughout the region, so that it may challenge and delight generations to come. To that end, please help spread the word. We hope to see you there.
